We are seeking a Renewable Energy | Senior Engineer to join our team who has both passion and experience performing renewable energy detailed design with a focus on solar photovoltaic, wind energy, battery storage, energy infrastructure, transmission and substation systems. The successful individual will join an integrated and growing team of utility renewable focused practitioners that cross disciplines in a holistic service offering inclusive of electrical & power engineers, civil & structural engineers, and energy and sustainability consultants. It is expected that this role will be focused on the engineering design and project management of large-scale renewable energy facilities, BESS, transmission & distribution, and substations from early stage development through to detailed design. The candidate will be expected to contribute to current work and collaborate with related disciplines to deliver quality products via digital and in-person interactions. Candidate will be based in San Francisco, Houston, Dallas or Los Angeles. Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following: Design and layout solar, wind, and other renewable energy facilities and related site infrastructure in collaboration with senior engineering staff. Perform engineering and design calculations. Deliver various aspects of solar and renewable energy system design, such as the proper sizing of AC and DC cabling systems. Perform power system economic evaluations. Act as a project manager or deputy project manager for utility scale renewable planning and design projects, including operating as the day-to-day point of contact between the internal team and the client. Delegate and direct the activities of junior engineering staff where appropriate to their skill and ability. Prioritize tasks to ensure quality deliverables and customer satisfaction while adhering to budget. Support business development, proposal, and client relationship management activities working in collaboration with senior business staff. Take initiative, follow agreed practice, innovate, and learn through experience and training. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 6 years of experience, with at least 3 years experience in the renewable power generation sector. PE license desired and eligible to obtain PE license across any state. Experienced with PVSyst, CADD/PLSCADD software, modelling, design and/or analysis software preferred. Must possess strong technical communication skills (writing and verbal) and be able to read and interpret technical literature and engineering plans. Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Los Angeles is $115,000 and $150,000 . Benefits are not included in the base salary range.
